with Godfrey Johnson directed by Sanjin Muftic
Ticket Prices :
Show & Light Meal : from R175 p.p.

In “BEHIND EVERY MAN” Godfrey Johnson performs a cabaret in honour of women song writers. At the Kalk Bay Theatre on the 17th and 24th of August, Fleur de Cap winner, Godfrey Johnson performs a one-person cabaret, an intimate, evocative and moving show celebrating the genius of female song writers and composers featuring songs by female icons such as Cyndi Lauper, Edith Piaf, Tina Turner as well as Alanis Morissette, Tracy Chapman and many others. Godfrey’s highly original interpretations of these heartfelt songs will have you hearing them for the first time. Showcasing his talents not only as a pianist, but also as a singer and performer, Godfrey gently sweeps you through the emotions of joy, heartache, and love that we all share, regardless of our gender.
After having worked as a musician, director, composer and having accompanied Pieter-Dirk Uys, Johnson won the 2007 Fleur du Cap award for best Performance in a cabaret/review for his work in Kissed by Brel. Godfrey will soon [September 17 to 21] be featuring in another solo cabaret at the Kalk Bay Theatre, “FLIRTING WITH COWARD”, celebrating the spirit of Noel Coward.
This is his first collaboration with Bosnian born director, Sanjin Muftic, whose Yawazzi theatre productions, The Life and Work of Petrovic Petar and Under the Stars, Above the Tree received critical acclaim.

Kirchmann Productions & Robust Physical Theatre Company collaborate to create “Junkie”. “This is my story – I am Alice. Daddy gambles; Mommy drinks; Seth goes missing, and me, I survive”. An evocative look into the tumultuous world of growing up amidst addiction. Highly imagistic with a strong physical language this is a piece guaranteed to move and inspire.
Alice, a girl who grows up despite the turmoil of addiction around her, and a woman, who against all the odds, chooses to triumph. Starring Shirley Kirchmann as Alice and directed by Ruth Levin, “Junkie” is an emotional, visceral and riveting ride that will stay with you long after you leave the theatre.
